Hello INSEAD friends,

As some of you may know, I'm participating in this year's Mongol Rally, a 'race' from London to Mongolia (see http://mongolrally.theadventurists.com). The idea is to drive from Hyde Park to Ulaan Bataar, taking whatever route you like, in as bad a car as you can find. I blame [Y] for convincing me to do this and then dropping out.

Anyhoo, my team is now the proud owners of a 1995 Daihatsu Hijet, a bunch of maps of Central Asia, and a lot of wishful thinking. We're planning on going through such places as Georgia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan on our way to Mongolia... well, provided the car makes it. Worse comes to worse, there should be a lovely ferry ride from Dover to Calais.

To help motivate us even more for this trip, we are raising £2,000 for charities that work in Mongolia and other parts of Central Asia. It would be great if you could help us raise money by giving a few pounds to the Christina Noble Child Foundation (CNCF), an organisation that continues to change the lives of disadvantaged children in Mongolia through projects in education, health care, and housing.

You can contribute by going to our Just Giving page, where there's some more info and a sweet photo of our car. We're also running a contest to see who can come up with the funniest thing for us to bring on our trip:

Since you're all such an international crowd, if you have contacts or tips for these parts of the world, send 'em over!

Hope everyone is doing amazing.

Thanks,
